Mindstorm Refugee Intelligence
Monday, we went to Electric City for Trish's MRI. Car-girl was supposed to give us a ride, but came down with a case of strep throat -- about which I know nothing, beyond that it's some sort of infection. I'd talked with her earlier last week if she could drive us, & she indicated that, plenty of rest in bed, plenty of fluids, she should be able to do it. Friday, I left a message on her machine to the effect of, "Should we reschedule?", which led to a vituperous outburst Saturday night. We finally got Bryan to do it.
This meant waking Trish up at 5:30 in order to take her Synthroid, as she needs to take it an hour before the rest of her medication. Pancakes went in bellies, & then we were on the road. We arrived in plenty of time, & found the Specialty Services building, which contained the Machine -- the point of Machine Messiah is that we must liberate the machine.
They let me go in the room with Trish, but we both had to wear ear plugs, it was so loud. We'll know the results some time today.
Then we went to Subway, where Trish & I had BLT & Bryan, club. He took half his home with him.
When we returned to Invisible City, we went upstairs, to see if Perky Pam could shoot us up then, but she didn't show, so we went to Western Drug to refill my sleeping pills: the other night I was up at 3:00 AM. Last night, I slept until 5:00.
We ran into Karen Upstairs (Karen Downstairs is now in Job Corps), & she said Trish shouldn't be driving on ice -- which she mistook as, she shouldn't be driving at all. After the fender bender in the Iron Claw parking lot, she's realized that she needs help from Trish-uh! some more. When Karen talked to me yesterday, she said that she doesn't want Trish paralyzed by fear, & suggested an extra 1/2 Klonopin before driving. However, the forecast yesterday was for snow, so we made arrangements with Fred to take her to work; & then it didn't snow, but Fred got his wires crossed & thought Trish should be off work at 2:00 & done with Down Under at 3:00, which in reality it wasn't until 4:00. He apparently became a little angry, & now Trish is afraid to rely on him.
When my Beautiful Bumblebee Girl came home we went down the street to eat at El Taco Loco; Trish's supper had been Kentuckified. Since it's supposed to be nice (& O'listless) today, she's walking to work & physical therapy. Karen said she'd talk to Fred today, about driving Trish on the icy days. Trish has more lessons with Trish-uh! starting tomorrow & Friday. I feel secure when the 2 of them are together.
Also, I've made plans to finish "Relayer" & Critter it, then return to work on Mindstorm, which may well become VADIS. That would certainly exasperate a particular person who did all she could to ruin my college experience. The reason for doing another draft is Ganz' statement: "extremely commercial, possibly a best seller". Since the patent on the atypical antipsychotics runs out in 2007, after Mindstorm I'm doing nothing but short stories until there is such a thing as generic Risperdal.
